School Based Mentoring Coordinator - Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters
Full Time School Based Coordinator Greater Waterbury/ New Britain

The position is responsible for coordinating all major program and relationships functions for a number of school-base programs. Program functions include recruiting, screening and training volunteers and children and supporting those relationships to successful outcomes for children. Relational functions include establishing and maintaining positive, professional and mutually beneficial relationships with school and volunteer rich partners.

Qualifications:

BA plus 1 year’s experience in working with both child and adult populations or equivalent experience. Specific assessment, interview or intake experience and specific relationship development experience preferred; understanding of child development and family dynamics preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook needed. Must have transportation, valid driver’s license and meet state required vehicle insurance minimum.

Assessment/Strategic intervention skills, customer focus, interpersonal savvy, priority setting, practices attentive and active listening, result/outcome oriented, approachability and strong organizational skills.
